Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force has advertised an employment notification circulating news that it is going to recruit skilled and passionate workforce for the department for 683 available posts of General Duty inspector. About ITBP:

ITBP is a multi-dimensional force. Presently Battalions of ITBP deployed on Border Guarding Duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh covering 3488 KM of India China Border are manning Border Out Posts at an altitude ranging from 9000’ to 18500’ in the Western, Middle & Eastern Sector of India China Border. ITBP is basically a mountain trained Force and most of the officers & men are professionally trained Mountaineers and Skiers,. They have scaled more than 140 Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest Four times ( Recent successful expedition in April-May, 2012), besides ITBP batallions are also deployed on CI OPS / IS / VIP security duties at Chamba – Doda border, in VA/Startegic locations and with VIPs in Delhi and VIPs in Srinagar J&K. The border posts manned by ITBP are exposed to high velocity storms, snow blizzards, avalanches, and landslides, besides the hazards of high altitude and extreme cold, where temperature dips up to minus 40 degree Celsius. ITBP conducts Long Range and Short Range patrols to keep an effective vigil on inaccessible and unmanned areas on the border. To maintain optimum operational efficiency of troops, periodical tactical exercises are conducted independently as well as jointly with Army.

Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force :

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is one of the eight Central Armed Police Forces of India, raised on 24 October 1962, under the CRPF Act, in the wake of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. The ITBP was intended for deployment along India’s border with Chinese-occupied Tibet. ITBP is a multi-dimensional force which remains functional to Vigil on the northern borders; checks illegal immigration and trans-border smuggling provide security to sensitive installations and threatened VIPs.

ITBP GD Recruitment 2016:

Upper age limit of the candidates must not exceed 52 years as on the closing date of the receipt of application. Age relaxation may be done for reserved quota as per Government rules. The departmental officers who are in line to get promoted will not be considered to get appointed on deputation. Similarly, deputationists will not be considered to for appointment by promotion.

The armed force personnel due to retire or who are to be transferred to reserve within a period of one year and have the qualifications and are in Medical Category Shape1 will also be considered for deputation up to the date on which they are due to release from the Armed Forces. After that, they will be considered for re-employment.

Selected personnel will be given salary ranged from Rs. 9,300/- to Rs. 34,800/-Rs with grade pay of Rs. 4,600/- as per Government rules and other allowances granted to Central Government Employees for ITBP Inspector General Duty Recruitment 2016. Salary will vary on the basis of qualification, skill and deputation length. Pay scale is expected to rise year by year on the basis of job evaluation.
